ISK has gained worldwide acclaim for its mass production of organic intermediates through proprietary technology. Organic chemicals, used as intermediates in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyestuffs, pigments and other products offer unlimited possibilities as new applications continue to be discovered. Many benefits are expected from the introduction of these materials.


At ISK, we continue to produce and sell organic intermediates such as meta-dichlorobenzene and 3,5-dichloroaniline. Recently, ISK again moved forward by successfully developing more than 60 types of intermediates by drawing on the technical expertise in organic compounding we have accumulated in the development of agrochemicals. These products have substantially increased our profile in the organic chemical industry. One characteristic of many of our organic intermediates is their symmetrical structure; a substituent occupies the 1,3 and 5 positions of the benzene ring. These chemicals were once extremely difficult to mass produce, but through our technical innovations we have solved these problems and established a successful manufacturing line. Meta-dichlorobenzene, 3,5-dichloroaniline and similar organic intermediates illustrate the success of this achievement. Many customers worldwide value these exceptional materials for their unrivaled quality.



ISK's profile in the organic chemistry industry is enhanced by our continued effort to create the next generation of agrochemicals. Another outgrowth of our development of intermediates includes the pyridine derivatives and compounds formed by substituting fluorine into the picoline chain. Compounds incorporating these derivatives offer great potential as new forms of agrochemical and pharmaceutical intermediates due to the strong biological activity they exhibit.

In addition, 2-chloro-5-trifluoromethylpyridine, which provides the framework for three different types of agrochemicals recently developed by ISK, is in demand worldwide for its own unique properties.


Major Organic Intermediates
  • Meta-dichlorobenzene (m-DCB) This intermediate was developed as a starting material for X-52, our rice herbicide. Our meta-dichlorobenzene boasts a 99 percent or greater purity and a very high quality. It is widely implemented as an intermediate in agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.
  • 3,5-Dichloroaniline (3,5-DCA) For several years, ISK researched the development of this intermediate, which is used in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyestuffs and other products; however, mass-production difficulties, high costs and limited demand presented obstacles to success. Nevertheless, its use as a starting material in fungicide for gray mold on grapes and in other materials resulted in increased demand that called for a stable supply of a mass-produced and reasonably priced product. In meeting these requirements, ISK developed an original manufacturing technique and initiated the development of the world's first industrial production line for this intermediate. As a result, we have supplied major chemical companies the world over with intermediates for several years.
  • 1,3,5-Trihydroxybenzene (1,3,5-THB) In the conventional process of this intermediate, explosive trinitrotoluene (TNT) was required as a starting material. This situation presented an obvious potential explosion hazard and wastewater disposal problems. Through the investigation of our manufacturing methods for 3,5-DCA, we developed a systematic manufacturing process that solved the problems we faced. This new manufacturing process enabled us to begin marketing this intermediate, which is now primarily used as a raw material in pharmaceuticals and as a coupling agent in copying. Its use as a resin modifier and adhesive is expected to be perfected soon.
  • 2-Chloro-5Trifluoromethylpyridine (2,5-CTF) This organic intermediate has been compounded as a major ingredient in the chemical structure of the agricultural herbicide One-cide, the insecticide Atabron, and the fungicide Frowncide - agrochemicals produced by ISK that have achieved great success and demonstrated the superiority of agrochemicals containing CTF. The interest being shown in every application of this intermediate is opening avenues for new agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals. Previously, the industrial production of CTF was not feasible due to the extremely high costs of conventional manufaturing techniques. The systematic manufacturing process developed by our labs, however, has again significantly reduced production costs. CTF is presently being mass-produced as a raw materials for the above products.
